"Hosanna" to "Crucify": Palm Sunday 2026 (Matthew 21:1-11)
Palm Sunday: “Hosanna” turns to “Crucify”. Our hearts mirror the crowd's fickleness. Yet the humble King rides to die for us anyway. Follow Him through Holy Week.

But Jesus Christ is the obedient Son, and his righteousness is sufficient for us. When we have compromised and guilt weighs heavily upon us, we may confess our sins honestly and receive his forgiveness. When we have bowed before an idol, we may repent and return to the Savior who welcomes sinners.
That is why Lent is not a forty-day program of religious self-improvement designed to earn God’s favor. It is a season in which our pretenses are stripped away so that we may learn again to receive what we could never manufacture for ourselves.
That movement belongs at the heart of the Gospel. God does not save us because we successfully ascend to him. He comes to us. The eternal Son takes our flesh. He enters our world, bears our sin, goes to Jerusalem, and accomplishes the salvation we cannot accomplish for ourselves.
World Mission Sunday begins with the compassion of Jesus. He sees the crowds as sheep without a shepherd, declares that the harvest is plentiful, and tells his disciples to pray earnestly for laborers. Mission begins with God’s grace, moves through prayer, and sends the Church to make Christ known.
That is why the Beatitudes are Gospel before they become application. Christ has come. His kingdom has drawn near. He blesses people who have nothing with which to impress God, and he gives himself as their righteousness, sanctification, and redemption.
